Take the handmade pledge and try to buy handmade items for holiday gifts this year. It's so important to support your neighbors and your community by purchasing things created or made by the people who make your community what it is. So many of our family's Christmas lists are filled with electronic items this year. If I feel that I have to get a particular item for someone, and that gift is not handmade, I make sure to buy something handmade in addition to that gift, for someone else or just to have a few extra options to add to last minute gifts. There will be 21 Mississippi artists selling their handmade or handcreated merchandise at this year's Holiday Arts Market at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center, the market starts on Thursday, December 3rd.
